Why?
Hunger and malnutrition are problems that children and families face in these poor neighborhoods in Colombia every day. Unfortunately, in Colombia there is not really child support, HUD, or food stamp programs. We are truly blessed to have what we have and to live in this great countries USA & Canada! We think that it is our responsibility to share our blessings and help those who are less fortunate and live in extreme poverty. Let’s make a difference in their lives!

What?
Every year during Christmas, with the help of our generous donors and our good friends in Colombia, the Villarreal-Butler family deliver groceries and basic necessities to families and elders in need in some of the poorest neighborhoods in Chia and Bogota, Colombia. We try to focus on disabled children and elders in need as they are often the most effected and least able to help themselves.
Our most intimate engagement is with some special needs children, or extremely hard cases, involving children in the Chia area. Based on some new individual sponsorships, we have been able to add a number of new children to our monthly group who we help with basic necessities. Please take a few minutes to look at the video. We called this part of the project the "Purple Angels" in honor of our dear Heather Papayoti and Orlando Villarreal (Diana’s father), who are a great inspiration and help us from heaven. We hope you like it!
We also partner with FUNDEHI in Colombia, a non-profit organization led by Sister Beatriz who runs a soup kitchen in Altos de Cazuca, one of the poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods in Soacha, Bogota Colombia. She feeds close to 150 children and 40 elders that live in extreme poverty. This is the only real meal these children and elders receive each day. Thanks to the contributions from you, our church Covenant City Church, and our family, we are able to provide funds for Sister Beatriz to run the soup kitchen every month.
